Found covered in blood with a knife, a decapitated dog, and a missing baby,
Helen (Madsen) is immediately put under arrest on suspicion of murder and
kidnapping. At the police station, they waste no time and she's subjected to
an embarrassing strip search still covered in blood. She begs for a shower at
least and to speak to Detective Valento (Lewis), but the policewoman (Schwimmer)
doesn't budge. Obviously Helen is in considerable distress at this point, but there
seems to be an allusion to homo-eroticism and S & M when a steadfast policewoman
stands there ordering her to undress.
