This is the second most memorable scene from the film, partly because
it features much of the main cast nude. And when Carrie (Spacek) is taunted
by her classmates, the direction and editing puts the viewer in a position of
feeling as uncomfortable as the character. Editor Paul Hirsch also remembers this
scene most because during the opening credits, his name is displayed just as Allen comes into
view, completely naked. Even his close friends commented they never saw his name
because they were too busy paying attention to Allen.
