Healing his wounds, Carolina(Hayek) entices El Mariachi(Banderas) to play
the guitar. But as he begins, his vulnerable, yet soft demeanour draws
her closer. At first he resists but soon gives in and the two make
passionate love by candlelight. Subtle, yet intelligent, Rodriguez uses
this opportunity not only to show how different the original, kind-hearted
guitar player is compared to this new, gun-toting persona, he also contrasts
good and evil by proceeding this scene with a vulgar sexual romp featuring
the principal villain Bucho (de Almeida).
